Long de 120 km, l&rsquo;ouvrage reliera Damerjog, sur la c\u00f4te djiboutienne, \u00e0 Dewele, en \u00c9thiopie, avec des capacit\u00e9s de stockage respectives d&rsquo;environ 375 000 et 800 000 m\u00b3 ; sa mise en service est pr\u00e9vue dans un d\u00e9lai de 18 mois, \u00e0 l&rsquo;issue d&rsquo;un m\u00e9morandum d&rsquo;entente sign\u00e9 entre Ethiopian Investment Holdings, Dangote Industries et Great Horn Investment Holding, la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 publique d&rsquo;investissement djiboutienne. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le dispositif vise \u00e0 r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 une contrainte structurelle pour Addis-Abeba : priv\u00e9e d&rsquo;acc\u00e8s \u00e0 la mer depuis l&rsquo;ind\u00e9pendance de l&rsquo;\u00c9rythr\u00e9e en 1993, l&rsquo;\u00c9thiopie d\u00e9pend de Djibouti pour ses importations p\u00e9troli\u00e8res, aujourd&rsquo;hui largement achemin\u00e9es par camions-citernes, un mode de transport que la conduite doit permettre de rendre plus rapide, moins co\u00fbteux et moins \u00e9metteur de carbone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ce projet prolonge le rapprochement d\u00e9j\u00e0 engag\u00e9 entre Dangote et l&rsquo;\u00c9thiopie autour d&rsquo;un complexe d&rsquo;engrais \u00e0 Gode, dont l&rsquo;investissement pr\u00e9vu est pass\u00e9 de 2,5 \u00e0 plus de 4 milliards de dollars avec l&rsquo;\u00e9largissement de son p\u00e9rim\u00e8tre.
